5. Brooke Point Black Hawks

In at number 5 we have our first what some would call "surprise" on the list. After all they finished last season with an average 4-5 record, missed the playoffs, and were completely left off the last 2021 top 10 of the season. So why are they this year not just on our list, but in our top 5? The Black Hawks return a load of players from last year all entering their Junior and Senior seasons. Among them are D-1 prospect Daniel Coles (RB), long rangy Donovan Grayson (DE), Dwight Fialor in the trenches, and Bryce Lewis, and Daveon Estes are 2 athletic seniors that will contribute possibly on both sides of the ball.

Not to mention that after an abysmal 2019 campaign, Head Coach Dwight Hazelwood and his staff have managed to double their win totals each season since. That to me says the staff is finding a way to get the most out of their players. The Black Hawks could very well find themselves in the top 3 in this list at some point this year and I would have considered putting them there if they had a returning QB. Noah Sanders (Now at Delaware) will be missed by this Black Hawk squad but if his replacement can come in and fill his role nicely than we will likely see BP put up a lot of points this season. The Black Hawks schedule is fairly difficult. With Class 6 powerhouse Freedom coming to town tomorrow and Eastern View waiting down the line. On top of that of course the Black Hawks compete in the Commonwealth district and will inevitably have run ins with Mountain View, Colonial Forge, Massaponax, and Riverbend. For the Black Hawks they will likely need to win 2 if not 3 of those games in order to position themselves comfortably in the region playoff standings.

Record Projection: 7-3
