8. Orange County Hornets

2022 was an absolute success for the #8 team on our list. The Hornets were able to put together their best season since 2008 and get to a record of 8-3. When looking at this years version of the Orange Hornets a good amount of players return as the Hornets hope to be on the verge of accomplishing something special. Last years team clearly had talent, however that talent simply came up short when they went up against some of the better teams in their district losing all of those games by an average of 36 points. However after one of the best years in recent memory and a decent bunch of returning starters, the Hornets have to hope they are on the verge of a break through season. 

Jeremiah Wharton (QB) and Christian Sampson (RB) will both be back behind their offensive line this season. Two Way Athletes JaePharoh Carpenter and Jay Foran will be huge factors at both Outside Line Backer as well as Receiver like they were a season ago. Other names like Dwayne Wells, and Donnell Copeland return and add to the arsenal for the Hornets. The big question that will remain is how the OC offensive line is able to hold up, and how the defensive front 7 is able to make things difficult for opponents.

OC's schedule features many familiar faces. Their biggest games of the year will be against Courtland, Albemarle and Louisa. If they can find a way knock off 2 of these opponents instead of one this season will likely be one of the best that OC has seen this Century.
