1. Colonial Forge Eagles

The Spring season had to be very odd for the Colonial Forge Eagles. For the first time since 2007 the Eagles missed the playoffs, thanks to a condensed playoff bracket in one of the tougher regions in the state. Make no mistake, not many teams wanted to face the Eagles last season. The Eagles finished season 4-2 and impressed with a bruising running game thanks in part to the Eagles imposing Offensive Line. The Eagles were a young team last year and seemed to lean heavily offensively on the play making ability of now graduated RB Jordan Barnett and Cade Bills. But this team got crucial contributions from other talented weapons. Khalis Garrett-Bey did a great job serving as relief duty for Barnett last year and will look to carry a heavier load this upcoming season. Hiro Carr returns at starting Quarterback and will attempt to improve the passing game from a season ago. But most importantly the Eagles are have the biggest Offensive Line in the area. Nolan McConnell (6'6 290) is getting interest from D-1 schools all over the country, Vincent Byrd (6'3 290) is shorter than McConnell but brings the same amount of strength with more experience. Blake Bryant, Nick Massey and Christian Holley are also older players that are nice sized and will help the Eagles continue to dominate in the running game. Defensively the Eagles will be hard to score on. The Eagles look to apply tons of pressure to offenses having alot of size on the Defensive Line in Vincent Byrd, Nick Massey (6'1 200) and Blake Bryant (6'0 275), and there edge rushers will be rushing the passer with speed as Outside Linebackers, Christian Stringer and Emmanuel Patterson both got carries at running back last season. In the secondary Tico Palmer, Colby Kynard, Hiro Carr and Donte Johnson will be hard to pass on and make life difficult for teams that will attempt to keep up with the Eagles offense. The Eagles are big, their fast, and their experienced and their schedule will serve to sharpen their teeth for the post season
