Week 9 Top 10

Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.

THE TOP TEN

10. Brooke Point Black-Hawks (4-4)

The Black-Hawks lost Friday night on the field, but got help with teams like Forest Park also losing. The Black-Hawks are still the 7 seed in region 6B as of today. However, with their 2nd loss in a row the Black-Hawks will need to beat either Colonial Forge or Riverbend to finish at .500.

9. Riverbend Bears (3-4)

The Bears were hit in the mouth by Colonial Forge in the opening snaps on Friday and they never really recovered. Match-ups with BP, Ponax and Stafford still loom and all of these match-ups will be huge for Riverbend going forward.

8. Massaponax Panthers (3-4)

A well timed bye for the Panthers will set the Panthers up nicely to make a run and build momentum for the playoffs.

7. Courtland Cougars (5-2)

Courtland has dominated in all of their 5 wins this year. They'll need to keep winning though, the playoffs are still not a guarantee for the Cougars who sit as the 7 seed in the super competitive 4B region.

6. Louisa Lions (6-1)

Louisa contiues to win, however a lack of strength of schedule is hurting them. The Lions fell to the 4 seed this weekend despite their 62-8 win over Charlottesville, with teams in this region being as far away as Roanoke, every round you can stay at home helps.

5. Eastern View Cyclones (7-0)

Eastern View made short work of Spotsylvania on Friday night and now will have what very well could be a "winner take all" match-up against Battlefield district rival King George.

4. Colonial Forge Eagles (7-1)

Colonial Forge came out on fire and played to me their best game of the season. Josiah Bryson went nuclear and scored 5 TDs. Brock Brimhall played in his second big game of the season and played lights out, setting the tone on the first drive with a beautiful TD pass.

3. Kettle Run Cougars (7-0)

Kettle Runs regular season win streak hit 32 last week with their dominant victory over Sherando. They continue to march towards their showdown with fellow Nokesville school Brentsville District.

2. Mountain View Wildcats (7-0)

The Wildcats won their 19th straight home game last Friday and have a tight grip over their own destiny in the Commonwealth District. If the Wildcats can survive a trip to Nokesville against Patriot, the Wildcats have a great shot at their first undefeated season.

1. King George Foxes (7-0)

King George enters this weeks match-up with a lot more than just their regular season winning streak or District winning streak on the line. The match-up this Sunday will likely determine the 1 seed in the 4B region.
