Week 10 Top NINE

Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.

THE TOP NINE

9. Massaponax Panthers (4-4)

Panthers held off North Stafford to stay alive in the region 5D playoff race. They end their year with Stafford and Riverbend before entering the post season.

8. Riverbend Bears (4-4)

Riverbend got back on track and controlled Friday nights game against a Stafford team that was fighting for survival. In turn the Bears have improved their own playoff aspirations in Class 5.

7. Courtland Cougars (6-2)

Another dominant win for Courtland last Thursday night and the Cougars are currently firmly set as the 7 seed in their region. They'll have a great opportunity to improve their seeding if they can win these next 2 games.

6. Louisa Lions (7-1)

Louisa notches another victory and with a Hermitage loss last weekend the Lions are a 3 seed once again and are in good position to lock up at least one home playoff game.

5. Eastern View Cyclones (7-1)

The Cyclones fell short on Friday but they won't be dropping in our rankings this week. For the second year in a row Eastern View was able to shut out KG for an entire half. Not something we typically see done to the Foxes. I think this group is a lot tougher than people (including me) give them credit for.

4. Colonial Forge Eagles (8-1)

The Eagles controlled the game against Brooke Point and now finally have their first Bye. With so many scenarios up in the air for that region in the playoffs, the Eagles will likely use some of the time to prepare for potential opponents.

3. Kettle Run Cougars (8-0)

Cougars continue to roll over all challengers that face them. 33 straight regular season victories for the Cougars and they have their eyes on accomplishing new milestones.

2. Mountain View Wildcats (8-0)

It wasn't pretty by any means but the Wildcats held off Patriot from Prince William County. They now will try to defeat North Stafford and Stafford to close out the season with their first undefeated season in school history. Mountain View has been rolling the last few years sitting at 30-4 over the last 3 seasons.

1. King George Foxes (8-0)

The Foxes showed their mettle on Friday night and pulled out a victory over another formidable Battlefield District opponent. The Foxes continue to execute at a level as high as any team in not just Northern Virginia but in the state period.
