Week 6 Top 10

Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.

THE TOP TEN

10. Massaponax Panthers (2-3)

Two tough losses back to back for the Panthers now, and the going doesn't get any easier for the Panthers either, undefeated Colonial Forge comes to town next.

9. Courtland Cougars (3-1)

The Cougars easily rolled over Culpeper 55-0 and now have their sights on proving that they are a real contender in the Battlefield district with a match-up against undefeated King George Friday night.

8. Brooke Point Black-Hawks (3-2)

I said to expect an angry Daniel Coles Friday, and well all he did was score 6 TDs and rack over 400 all-purpose yards. It's easy to assume he was a one man show in the win over North, but it is important to remember Brooke Point outscored North 40-6 after falling behind 21-0 early the defense played a huge role in coming up with huge plays when needed.

7. Riverbend Bears (2-2)

Do many teams in the state have a tougher 3 game stretch than the Bears? First KG, then Highland Springs and now undefeated Mountain View, this week is a huge opportunity for the Bears to get a big win immediately in district play.

6. Louisa Lions (3-1)

The Lions turned in their most dominating performance of the season winning 49-14 last week, a much improved Monticello could be an interesting test for the Lions this week.

5. Eastern View Cyclones (4-0)

After such a dramatic emotional win 2 weeks ago against Brooke Point, the Cyclones struggled at times defensively against Caroline but in the end pulled out a double digit win over the Cavaliers and have an interesting match-up with a young talented North Stafford group

4. Mountain View Wildcats (4-0)

Mountain View jumped all over Massaponax on Friday night showing they are still one of the best in the Commonwealth District. The competition ramps up quickly for the Wildcats now and 3 of their next 4 will be on the road against playoff quality teams.

3. Kettle Run Cougars (4-0)

For the 3rd week in a row the Cougars hang a 50 burger on their opponent. Now this week they will face a confident and undefeated Millbrook team who last year stunned Class 4 powerhouse Tuscarora before being beaten by Kettle Run in the playoffs last season.

2. Colonial Forge Eagles (5-0)

Between Jaevyn Patterson and Josiah Bryson the Eagle probably have the best one two punch on the ground in the area. Colonial Forge will try to continue to punish teams on the ground while playing mistake free football this week against Massaponax who stunned the Eagles last season winning 44-20 in the regular season finale.

1. King George Foxes (4-0)

King George was on complete cruise control Friday night. Everything has looked easy so far this season for the Foxes... will they get their first taste of adversity this Friday against Courtland?
