Week 3 Top 10

Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.

THE TOP TEN

10. Courtland Cougars (2-1)

Courtland secured a 2 possesion win over North Stafford this week yet they fall a spot in our rankings due to Massaponax's performance this week. The Cougars do a good job of minimizing mistakes and forcing the opposing offense into mistakes of their own.

9. Louisa Lions (2-1)

The triple option is the last offense a young inexperienced team wants to face... And Friday night you saw why, Louisa still showed signs of why they are a top 10 team, but the Panthers were just too much this last week.

8. Massaponax Panthers (2-1)

The Panthers bounced back in a huge way on Friday night rushing for over 350 yards. Would not surprise me to see many more performances coming up that resemble the one we saw Friday night

7.  Brooke Point Black-Hawks (2-1)

Last season Brooke Point had their fans scratching their heads when they traveled to Riverside in Loudoun and lost by double digits... This season Brooke Point showed a little bit more focus and got the job done on the road against Independence and dominated 36-13... If I had any advice to give to Brooke Point's opponents this year, it would be to not mistake this years Brooke Point team with last years.

6. Riverbend Bears (2-1)

Hard to fault a team falling to King George, even if the second half did kind of get away from the Bears. But don't sleep on this team because of a tough loss, a season ago the Bears lost 74-0 in their second game and then won every game until the regular season finale.... The pieces are there for the Bears to do the same this season.

5. Eastern View Cyclones (2-0)

Eastern View enjoyed an early season bye last week and now they'll need to gear up and play solid Brooke Point team that dominated them in their house a season ago.

4. Mountain View Wildcats (2-0)

Mountain View gets a home match-up against a Centreville team that has a historically good program, but appears to be in a sort of rebuilding mode this season. Mountain View have looked good in their first 2 games, they'll look to keep it rolling heading into district play.

3. Kettle Run Cougars (2-0)

Kettle Run is a program that simply just knows how to put points on the scoreboard in big ways. Jake Mulhern has slid right into the starting QB role and has found his favorite targets, bad news for Cougars opponents.

2. Colonial Forge Eagles (3-0)

The Eagles won last Friday, even if it was in a slightly lackluster fashion. I'm willing to bet that Forge is just fine with that so long that they are able to stay healthy and collect wins. Good challenge this week as the Eagles will head to Nokesville to play Patriot

1. King George Foxes (3-0)

King George played 3 solid opponents to open their season and has dominated the competition by an average of 42 to 13. There are likely only a handful of teams in this state that can run with the Foxes.
