10. Brooke Point Black Hawks

To start our list we begin in East Stafford. A season ago hopes were high for Brooke Point, the team had plenty of returning starters and seemed in position to take a huge step forward. Unfortunately the Black Hawks had one of the more confusing seasons of any team in the 540 and finished 4-6 which was not good enough to make the playoffs. There were a few highlight wins, the Black Hawks showed flashes of their potential in their 28-6 and their 57-14 wins over Eastern View and Massaponax respectively. However there were just as many surprising losses, their losses to Riverside and Potomac come to mind. But that is in the past for this Brooke Point team. The 2023 season brings new opponents and new faces both as players and as coaches.

But not every face is new for the Black Hawks they also have some big time returning pieces that will look to lead Brooke Point to a bounce back season. One of those players is currently ranked as one of the top 35 players in Virginia. Daniel Coles has been one of the hardest players to tackle in the 540 in his 3 seasons at Brooke Point as he enters his senior year there won't be many players that will want to tackle him for 4 quarters of football. Junior QB Gabriel Dombek returns and has looked comfortable in both scrimmages behind an OLine that returns good players like James Miller and Tyler Stefan. Defensively there will be a lot of new faces that will have an opportunity to step up, Dallas Braswell and Joseph Ngante will likely be leaders that the defense will rely on.

The Black Hawks schedule presents no easy wins for the Black Hawks. Brooke opens against one of the most talented teams in Northern Virginia when they hit the road and take on King George. After that they have non-district matchups against a Spotsy team that has a reputation of making games difficult, Independence in Ashburn, and then Eastern View. A surprising slow start held back the Black Hawks and their high hopes, I expect them to be a little more focused out the gates in 2023.

Record Projection: 5-5
