Week 7 Top 10

Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.

THE TOP TEN

10. Stafford Indians (3-3)

A 40 point loss is tough to swallow no matter who you are and no matter who you are playing. However, I still believe this improved Stafford team is Top 10 worthy. They looked overpowered Friday night against one of the best in the area, however this is a well coached team that plays to the final whistle. A huge district match-up with, dare I say... Playoff implications on the line for the Indians this Friday night

9. Courtland Cougars (2-3)

I must say, I thought I was looking at a typo when I saw what Courtland did to JM Monday night. However, after getting a chance to watch the game I quickly realized I underestimated this team. In no way is Courtland a deep team however, they are a tough one. They don't have the best record at 2-3 but all 3 of those losses are to teams in our top 10 who have a combined record of 15-1. Very good chance the Cougars sit at 5-3 before ending the year against Eastern View and King George.

8. Eastern View Cyclones (5-1)

Good blowout victory for the Cyclones on Homecoming night. As the offense continues to improve the ceiling continues to rise for this sleeping giant in Culpeper.

7.  Orange County Hornets (4-0)

Unfortunately a pretty well anticipated Albemarle vs Orange match-up was canceled and won't be rescheduled. And now? An even bigger test looms as the Hornets will take on Louisa this Friday.

6. Colonial Forge Eagles (2-3)

A game that looked like it just might be more competitive than expected suddenly turned into a blowout 56-0 loss in the blink of an eye. They will have a quick turnaround game against winless district rival North Stafford this Friday.

5. Riverbend Bears (5-1)

Riverbend and Brooke Point seem to like playing compelling games (seriously look at the games they've played since 2019) for fourth year in a row the Bears came out on top. Now their attention turns to a not so dominant 2-3 Massaponax team, however the Bears are 1-16 all-time against the Panthers with their last win coming is 2017 I'm positive the Riverbend coaching staff will have the kids ready.

4. Kettle Run Cougars (6-0)

In a big time cross county district match-up against rival Liberty it was the offense that prevailed for the Cougars (shocking I know). If they can continue to put up numbers in bunches they'll go into their match-up with Handley 8-0

3. Louisa Lions (6-0)

Lions continue to roll this time, a slightly less dominant 49-14 win. Very interesting challenge ahead for the Lions this Friday against Orange.

2. King George Foxes (3-0)

Yet another game postponed for the foxes. They'll likely appreciate the rest however, as they'll have to play 3 games in 7 days starting Friday

1. Mountain View Wildcats (6-0)

A 40 point win over a much improved Stafford team is a good way to enter your bye week. Their next four games will present some stern tests for the Wildcats when they return to the field.
