Week 6 Top Ten

The best of the pack are starting to separate themselves! The 540 isn't as deep this season in terms of good teams, but the top I'd argue is as good as any in the state let's take a look at this weeks Top 10

Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.

THE TOP TEN

10. Brooke Point Black-Hawks (1-3)

We understand top 10's don't typically involve 1-3 teams, but when looking at the Fredericksburg area landscape, we unfortunately had no choice. Brooke Point is a team that began the season as a top 5 team but quickly fell out after 3 consecutive ugly losses to begin their season. However before their bye a week ago they bounced back in a big way defeating a previously undefeated Eastern View team pretty handily. We will see if this team has turned a leaf with Coles at QB in district play.

9. Stafford Indians (3-2)

The Stafford Indians continue to impress, even in defeat Stafford hung tough with an extremely talented Forge team. And even though the loss in the end 34-25. Stafford fans should be very excited about this programs future under Drugatz.

8. Eastern View Cyclones (4-1)

No better way to bounce back from an unexpected loss than a 41 point shutout victory. The next 3 games or so games should be good games for the Cyclones to improve before they'll have to travel to King George in late October

7.  Orange County Hornets (4-0)

A bye week in Orange last week. Which is perfect timing for a team that will try to get off to their best 5 game start since 2005 when they take on Albemarle

6. Riverbend Bears (4-1)

A game that looked like it would be competitive quickly turned into domination for the Bears last Friday, a crucial match-up with Brooke Point looms ahead

5. Colonial Forge Eagles (2-2)

Stafford gave this Forge team a little more than they were expecting last Friday. Perhaps the Eagles were looking ahead? Hope so, they will need a far better performance this week against Richmond based Powerhouse Highland Springs this Friday.

4. Kettle Run Cougars (5-0)

Last week their QB set a record, this week the entire offense got in on the fun. Cougars continue to roll and they'll take on county rival Liberty this Friday.

3. Louisa Lions (5-0)

Louisa will have an opportunity to put 60 points on the board 3 weeks in a row Friday night when they take on struggling Monticello.

2. King George Foxes (3-0)

63 points... In the first half.... Nothing else to say

1. Mountain View Wildcats (5-0)

Listen we understand that Ponax is young and not the powerhouse they usually are. Still no one so far this year showed they could score on Ponax as quickly as the Wildcats did on Friday Night.
