Week 3 Top 10

Week 2 has come and gone we are starting to see some new names make noise! Our Top 10 already has 2 teams that weren't on our radar rising up the charts.... Love this time of year

Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.

THE TOP TEN

10. Stafford Indians (2-0)

Welcome to the top 10! How about a 2-0 start for the Indians?! 20 straight losses and now a solid start to the season. A stern test this Friday though as #4 Eastern View comes to town.

9. Orange Hornets (2-0)

Orange has certainly looked like a top 10 team these past 2 weeks. Sure you can argue that Courtland and Culpeper aren't that strong this season. However, the players can only play who is on the schedule and do what they're supposed to do. That's what this team has done through 2 games. If they keep this play up we'll be looking at a 4-0 team going in to Albemarle on September 30th

8. Kettle Run Cougars (2-0)

A relatively easy win for the Cougars last Thursday. This is a team that will have a lot of confidence in the "Battle for Nokesville" this Friday against Brentsville.

7. Riverbend Bears (1-1)

Nothing much to say about a 74-0 loss. Still think this Bears team has pieces to challenge the best in the 540. We'll see if the next two games can rebuild this teams confidence.

6. Massaponax Panthers (1-0)

Very unfortunate that such a great match-up was not played last Friday. Hoping the match-up can be rescheduled.

5. Colonial Forge Eagles (0-1)

Tough close loss for a talented Eagles squad that in their opener still struggled to move the ball through the air. Their ground game and defense is what is going to have to make the Eagles contenders this season.

4. Eastern View Cyclones (2-0)

The Cyclones had a pretty big scare last weekend. Liberty played the Cyclones tough. However Eastern View responded and showed some toughness without their star player Clatterbaugh.

3. Louisa Lions (2-0)

Louisa has looked like they can do no wrong through 2 games. However, their first real test looms this Friday at Ponax.

2. Mountain View Wildcats (2-0)

30-0 victory for the Wildcats. A shutout victory on the road is always something to be celebrated

1. King George Foxes (1-0)

As I said earlier I truly hope their game vs Ponax is able to be rescheduled. Otherwise I wouldn't expect the Foxes to be challenged until late October
