Week 10 Preview

Had to put this out a day early as tomorrow's impending storm pushed up a lot of games but not all games. And as we enter our last 2 regular season games it is a BIG week for some teams... So lets get started

Where I was right:

From the jump I felt people were kind of disrespecting King George, Massaponax and Kettle Run fast forward a couple months later those teams are a combined 19-2... All 3 of these teams are extremely well coached and are a threat to make a lot of noise in their respective regions.

Where I was wrong:

I've bragged all season about my Intriguing Match-Up picks... and rightfully so I'm 13-2 last week I struggled a bit, I incorrectly picked Forge over Riverbend and then I thought Brooke would score a good amount against Mountain View... Here's to hoping I bounce back.

LOCKS OF THE WEEK

Liberty (0-7) at Handley (7-1) (Saturday)

For those that don't know it has been a very rough season for the Eagles as they sit at 0-7 on the season. And while I believe that they aren't your typical winless team the Judges are going to be an angry team coming off their first loss and will likely just be to much to handle on Saturday against a Liberty team looking for their first win.

INTRIGUING MATCH-UPS

#9 Spotsylvania (5-3) at #2 King George (7-0) (Thursday @7)

Before I get into this game let's real quick acknowledge the amazing job both Coach Lunsford and Coach Jack have done since their arrival at King George and Spotsylvania respectively. There is just simply no chance 4-5 years ago this game would be as interesting as it is today. But both coaches have done a great job making their programs contenders in the Battlefield district. Now as for the game it will be interesting to see how this plays out. For the Knights they tend to like to keep the ball on the ground and grind out clock where the Foxes have recently shown a more balanced attack with Zach Ferguson at QB... The Foxes defense has looked impossible to score on the last few weeks. But Spotsy has looked like they are up to the challenge offensively. Neither team is going to back down, I believe this one will be closer than some think

Prediction: Spotsylvania 17 King George 34

#1 Mountain View (8-0) at #7 North Stafford (3-4)

Much like last weeks game between BP and Mountain View, I was tempted to put this on our Upset Alert game. But, there aren't many games more interesting than this rivalry game. This is North's last chance, if they even have a chance... Right now the Wolverines are several spots out of the last playoff spot and will need a win tonight to give them a significant boost in the Power Polls. And unfortunately that may not even be enough they will likely need some help in order to make it but first they must control what they can control. And tonight they take on the undefeated Wildcats... I'd expect the Wolverines to do a good job of slowing down the Wildcats as this is probably the best defense Mountain View has faced this season. And offensively the Wolverines have to feel more confident in their passing game as they have seen both Dino Jones and Cliff Davis make big plays in their last few games up top. For North it will be about limiting the big play, Mountain View has had more than a few in every game they've played this season behind Jackson Sigler's arm and the Oline that has began to open up holes for Ike Daniels and Tyler Perry. This is a huge test for the Wildcats one that could determine how much of a contender they truly are

Prediction: North Stafford 13 Mountain View 24
